One of the best known musicians in Montgomery County, Doug has performed for over thirty years for finer establishments, private occasions, charitable organizations and community events. Doug performs "Music You Love to Hear" – a wide variety of songs by artists such as James Taylor, Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, Goo Goo Dolls and Jackson Browne. Doug also writes and performs very engaging original songs, and truly enjoys performing for a live audience.
In addition to paid engagements, over the years Doug has performed for numerous community and charitable fundraisers, helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars. Doug is often available to perform for these events at no cost.
Doug Bell is available for bookings in the Metro Washington DC area. Contact Doug for detais.
Doug also offers limited private guitar and drum lessons in Poolesville, MD. While basic music theory is taught, students should have an interest in learning to play guitar (and sing!), or the drums with an emphasis on having fun with music. Beginning students should be able to concentrate for a forty-five minute lesson.
Doug Bell has been playing at The Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain Happy Hour for the last year. Doug always draws a crowd and our customers keep coming back for him to entertain them. His play list is extensive, so week after week his set feels fresh. Doug is a pleasure to do business with, as well as a gentleman. He is our favorite musician and has a standing gig with us on Friday evenings. We also have him play at other functions that we put on throughout the year.

Brian Sheron, former member of the Poolesville day Committee in charge of Music.
You know all those songs, and you can't help singing along. Doug Bell is one of our local musical treasures here in Poolesville, and his annual concerts at Whalen Commons and other nearby venues -- not to mention charitable gigs like fundraisers for the Katherine Thomas School -- are like a trip back home. Settle back and listen to classics like "Take Me Home, Country Roads," "Tequila Sunrise," "Drift Away," "Drive," "Margaritaville," "The River," "America" "The Boxer," and many other timeless rock ballads that have accompanied us through the last four decades.
